Armed with an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown, Daniel (“D.J.”) Brick embraces the unique challenges of estate planning. He counsels individuals and families on wealth planning, charitable donations, succession planning, durable powers of attorney, advance directives, wills, revocable trusts, and multi-generational estate and transfer tax planning.
Depending on their ultimate goal and objectives, D.J. works with clients, their financial and trusted advisors to prepare a comprehensive estate plan. When required, D.J. represents clients in court in matters of trustee appointments and modifications, trust decanting, and trust administration. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida, Michigan, and in the District of Columbia.
D.J. graduated with his B.A. in Business Administration from Michigan State University, and received his J.D. from MSU’s College of Law, cum laude. He also completed the Estate Planning Certificate program at Georgetown University Law Center. Between degrees, D.J. is a Veteran of United States Navy. He served as an Expeditionary and Special Warfare Intelligence Specialist where he deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and to Latin America for various force protection missions. He meritoriously and honorably completed his service as a senior staff Intelligence Specialist at Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Two in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Prior to joining Henderson Franklin, D.J. worked for one of the nation’s top Am100 law firms in Washington, D.C. In 2021 and 2022, Best Lawyers in America named D.J. to their “Ones to Watch” list for his work in trusts and estates law. D.J. is originally from California and Michigan and relocated to Florida to join the firm and be closer to family.
