Florida Trend Names Edward Canterbury a Notable Managing Partner

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. is proud to announce that its managing lawyer, Edward Canterbury, has been named one of Florida Trend Magazine’s “2025 Notable Managing Partners.” The honor recognizes law firm leaders across the state who demonstrate exceptional management skill, legal acumen and a commitment to their profession and communities. Reflecting on the recognition, Canterbury shared:

As managing lawyer, Canterbury oversees the strategic direction and daily operations of one of Southwest Florida’s oldest and largest full-service law firms with offices in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs and Naples. In addition to his administrative role, he continues to advise major real estate developers, government agencies and corporate clients on complex transactions, including commercial finance, land development and title matters.

Under Canterbury’s leadership, Henderson Franklin has deepened its client relationships and invested in future leadership through associate training and mentorship. Beyond the office, Canterbury is a past president of the Southwest Florida Real Estate Council, former Executive Committee and Board of Directors member of Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, a member of the Real Estate Investment Society (REIS) and a graduate of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.

A Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Lawyer, Canterbury has been recognized as a “Top Lawyer” in Naples Illustrated and previously named a “Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers. He earned his undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and his law degree from Ohio Northern University, where he graduated summa cum laude and served as valedictorian.
