Colten Thomas Joins Uncommon Friends Foundation Board of Directors

Real Estate and Land Use Attorney olten ThomasHenderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. is pleased to announce that real estate attorney Colten Thomas has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Uncommon Friends Foundation.

A third-generation Fort Myers native, Thomas is deeply committed to the responsible development and preservation of Southwest Florida’s rich history. As an associate in Henderson Franklin’s Land Use & Environmental Law and Real Estate Departments, he counsels clients on land use matters, community association issues, and real estate transactions. Colby Keefe, Chair of Henderson Franklin’s Real Estate Department, shares,

Thomas’ practice includes securing zoning approvals, variances, and entitlements for commercial and residential projects, ensuring compliance with municipal and environmental regulations, and advocating for innovative growth initiatives that balance economic progress with historical and ecological preservation. Additionally, Thomas works closely with community associations, advising on governance, covenant enforcement, and strategic planning to enhance property values and maintain the integrity of Southwest Florida’s communities.

Founded in 1993, the Uncommon Friends Foundation is dedicated to promoting character education, ethical business practices, and historic preservation. The Foundation maintains and operates the historic 1901 Burroughs Home in Fort Myers and preserves the legacy of James D. Newton, whose book Uncommon Friends chronicled his friendships with some of the most influential figures of the 20th century, including Edison, Ford, and Charles Lindbergh.
