Topics and Speakers
Regulatory Awareness. Attorneys Amanda Sharkey Ross and Steven Gendreau will provide an overview of Florida’s insurance regulatory agencies and key compliance topics for adjusters. The session covers licensing and appointment requirements, license maintenance, agency procedures, grounds for disciplinary action, and the roles of licensed vs. unlicensed personnel.
Insurance Law and Updates. Attorneys Michael Versnik and Brendan Shearman will update attendees on recent changes in Florida’s insurance laws and relevant federal regulations that impact their practice. Understanding these updates is crucial for maintaining compliance and adapting to evolving industry standards.
Ethical Requirements. Attorneys Michael Corso and Brian Griffin will help insurance claims representatives understand current marketing, regulatory, and ethical standards in claims handling and product sales. Topics include evaluating sales practices, understanding product suitability, and identifying unfair or deceptive acts under Florida Statutes §626.9541. Attendees will gain tools to navigate ethical challenges and maintain professional integrity.
Disciplinary and Industry Trends. Attorneys Jerry Olivo and Katherine Moran will provide real-world case studies of recent violations and enforcement actions against Florida insurance professionals. Adjusters will learn how to identify and avoid unauthorized insurance products, how to identify and avoid unauthorized entities that operate unlawfully within the state, and how to identify and avoid unauthorized practices.
