Overview
Jerry Olivo is an experienced civil litigator who represents private individuals and public entities in a broad spectrum of legal matters. Drawing on his background as an Assistant State Attorney, he frequently represents municipalities, public entities, and law enforcement agencies in constitutional claims and tort actions.
Jerry also has significant experience handling election law disputes, including challenges to Florida’s election laws and defending election contests. His practice extends to business litigation, where he advises and defends business owners on matters such as breach of contract, trade secrets, tortious interference, and FDUTPA claims. Additionally, he represents insurance carriers and their insureds in premises liability cases and defends attorneys in professional liability disputes.
Jerry is admitted to practice in all Florida Courts, Wisconsin Courts (inactive), the Northern, Middle, and Southern District Courts of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator in County, Circuit, and Family Law.
Jerry’s professional journey is marked by numerous accolades, a testament to his expertise and dedication. He was named one of Gulfshore Business magazine’s “40 Under 40” in 2022 and a “Top Lawyer” by Naples Illustrated from 2021-2024 for his work in insurance law. His skill in civil litigation defense was also recognized by Florida Super Lawyers, who named him a “Rising Star” in 2023.
Professional and Civic Involvement
Jerry graduated from Leadership Lee in 2023 and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Lee County Bar Association. He also contributes his time to the United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee, serving on its allocation team.
Beyond his professional commitments, Jerry has a deep-rooted commitment to community service. He has served on the Golden Apple Selection Committee for the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, mentored for the Lee County Teen Court Program, and volunteered for the Drug House Odyssey program, which educates the public about the perils of underage drinking and driving. His active involvement in these initiatives underscores his dedication to social causes.
