Suzanne Boy concentrates her practice in employment law, assisting clients with all aspects of employment-related litigation, claims, and client counseling. She has experience representing employers in both federal and state courts, and has litigated actions under a variety of employment laws, including Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, whistleblower statutes, and all types of retaliation. Suzanne regularly assists her clients with employee handbooks; supervisory training; and employee termination, leave, and disciplinary issues. She frequently speaks to businesses and professional groups on various employment matters, and serves as the lead writer of the firm’s Southwest Florida Employment Law Blog.
In addition to her employment law practice, Suzanne also handles a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract and business disputes, foreclosures and bank-related litigation, and estate-related litigation. She serves as general counsel for several of her corporate clients. Suzanne also has an active civil appellate practice.
For five consecutive years, Suzanne has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers® magazine for her work in business litigation (2010) and employment & labor (2011-2014). In 2012, she was one of 174 attorneys in Florida selected as an “Up and Comer” by Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite. Suzanne is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
In law school, Suzanne was honored each year as a Stetson Merit Scholar. She served as an editor of the Stetson Law Review, and was awarded the St. Petersburg Times Award for Best Law Review Write-on Competition Paper. Suzanne is a native of Southwest Florida and was raised in LaBelle.
Suzanne has been on the board for the Human Resource Management Association of Southwest Florida since 2012, and serves as President-Elect in 2014. She also serves on the Canterbury School Board of Trustees. Suzanne is a graduate of the 2012 Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Leadership class, and currently serves on the Chamber's Women in Business Committee.
Suzanne is a member of the Labor and Employment and Appellate Practice Sections of the Florida Bar, and is a member of the Lee County Bar Association. She also serves on the local Florida Bar Grievance Committee.
