Bruce M. Stanley, Sr., is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and is certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He handles appellate work and practices civil litigation of all types, with emphasis on medical malpractice, aviation, products liability defense, and eminent domain. Bruce has had over 100 jury trials and numerous arbitrations. He also has an agency practice dealing with licensing and disciplinary issues before the Florida Department of Health, primarily involving the Florida Boards of Medicine, Osteopathy, Podiatry and Nursing, as well as the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Department of Insurance and the Department of Agriculture. Bruce lectures on risk management to health care groups and organizations.
Bruce is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, United States District Courts for the Southern District (Trial Bar) and Middle District of Florida.
Bruce is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. For eight consecutive years (2006-2013), he has been named to Florida Super Lawyers ®, which recognizes the state’s top five percent of attorneys as selected by extensive peer review. Bruce has also been recognized by Best Lawyers in America ® and named "Fort Myers Area Best Lawyers Personal Injury Litigator of the Year" in 2009.
Bruce was raised in Fort Myers. After graduation from law school, he practiced with two insurance defense firms in Miami and then joined Henderson Franklin in 1985. Bruce and his wife, Pam, have three children, Julie Johnson, McLaren and Charlie. In his free time, Bruce is a commercial pilot and enjoys flying as well as photography.
Bruce is a member of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association, International Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute and Lee County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Experimental Aircraft Association and Seaplane Pilots Association.
