Matthew Belcastro Named 2027 Construction Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Fort Myers
Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to announce that stockholder and Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Law Attorney Matthew Belcastro has been named 2027 Construction Law “Lawyer of the Year” for Construction Law in Fort Myers by Best Lawyers in America®.
The “Lawyer of the Year” designation is awarded to one attorney in each practice area within a metropolitan region based on the highest aggregate peer feedback received through the Best Lawyers selection process. For the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, more than 30 million evaluations were analyzed. Approximately 5% of lawyers in the United States receive Best Lawyers recognition, and no fee is accepted for consideration or inclusion.
“Matt has earned the confidence of clients throughout Southwest Florida’s construction industry by understanding both the legal issues they face and the practical realities of getting projects completed,” said Henderson Franklin Managing Lawyer Edward Canterbury. “His Board Certification in Construction Law and years of experience handling sophisticated construction matters make him an important resource for our clients and our firm. We are very proud to see his work recognized with this distinction.”
Belcastro advises contractors, developers, property owners and other construction industry participants on matters arising throughout the life of a project. His Florida construction law practice includes preparing and negotiating construction contracts, addressing construction liens and payment disputes and handling claims involving construction defects. When disputes cannot be resolved early, he represents clients in construction litigation, arbitration and mediation involving residential and commercial projects.
“I’m honored to receive this recognition from my peers,” said Belcastro. “We have a great collection of construction lawyers in Fort Myers, so this designation and award mean a lot to me. I also have the support of a great team of lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants here at Henderson Franklin, which is critical to my practice and the services we provide to our clients.”
Belcastro obtained his B.A. at Haverford College and his J.D. from the University of Florida with honors. He may be reached at matthew.belcastro@henlaw.com.
