Iman Zekri Joins Blessings in a Backpack Board of Directors

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. proudly announces that Iman Zekri, a family law and appellate attorney, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Blessings in a Backpack Southwest Florida Chapter, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing childhood food insecurity by providing weekend meals to children in need. She shared her inspiration for joining the organization:

“As a product of the Lee County public school system, I have a deep personal connection to Southwest Florida and its families. It’s an honor to contribute to Blessings in a Backpack’s mission to ensure local children have the resources they need to thrive.”

Zekri’s dedication to community service extends across numerous leadership roles, including serving as The Florida Bar’s Student Education and Admissions to the Bar Committee Chair, Association of Family Law Professionals President, and Lee County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Grants and Awards Chair. She is also a Calusa Inn of Court Associate.

As a divorce, marital and family law attorney, Zekri advocates for individuals and families navigating divorce, domestic violence cases, paternity actions, and appeals. She also frequently handles prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Her professional accolades include being named a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers (2023-2024) and a Top Lawyer by Naples Illustrated in family law (2023-2024).

About Blessings in a Backpack

Blessings in a Backpack is a nonprofit program dedicated to fighting childhood food insecurity by providing weekend meals for students who might otherwise go hungry. Every Friday, children receive backpacks filled with kid-friendly, ready-to-eat food, ensuring they return to school on Monday nourished, focused, and ready to learn. In the schools served across Lee and Collier counties, the program has improved test scores, reading skills, behavior, health, and attendance, helping children thrive in and out of the classroom.
