Roos and Whittle to Help Risk Managers Sort Through the Legal High Weeds of Medical Marijuana in the Workplace

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to announce that stockholders David Roos and Russell Whittle will discuss the impact of medical marijuana in the workplace to the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Risk Management Society on Friday, August 16 in Naples. Topics include the federal and Florida law, as well as the impact on a drug-free workplace and other legal concerns for Florida employers. Many of Henderson Franklin attorneys frequently speak to local and national professional organizations on a variety of topics.

Roos serves as Chair of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation division. He represents insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims. Roos is also Chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA). Whittle has been representing the interests of insurers and employers in the defense of workers’ compensation and liability matters in Florida for nearly 30 years. His varied experience also includes serving as senior staff counsel for a Medicare compliance company, general counsel for an insurance company focusing on the professional employer organization market, and as a title insurance company attorney.
