Henderson Franklin Attorney Iman Zekri Elected to Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to announce that Appellate and Divorce, Marital and Family Law attorney Iman Zekri has been elected to the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors, where she will serve as a 20th Judicial Circuit Representative. Commenting on her election, Zekri shares:

I look forward to serving young lawyers across our circuit and supporting the Division’s work to strengthen professionalism, mentorship, and service throughout our legal community.”

The Board of Governors is the governing body of the Young Lawyers Division and is responsible for advancing initiatives that support professional development, leadership, and service among young lawyers throughout Florida. In her role as a 20th Circuit Representative, Zekri will represent young lawyers practicing in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades Counties.

Zekri is an Appellate and Divorce, Marital and Family Law attorney who guides clients through some of life’s most personal and challenging transitions. Her practice includes all aspects of family law, including divorce, paternity actions, domestic violence matters, post-judgment proceedings, family law appeals, and the preparation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. While she litigates matters throughout Southwest Florida, she assists clients statewide with prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Throughout her career, Zekri has earned recognition for both her legal practice and leadership within the profession. She has been named a Florida Super Lawyers “Rising Star” for three consecutive years from 2023 through 2025 and a “Top Lawyer” by Naples Illustrated for Appellate and Family Law in 2023 and 2024. She is also an accomplished legal writer and received the 2020 Florida Bar Journal Excellence in Writing Award, selected by The Florida Bar Journal & News Editorial Board.

Beyond her practice, Zekri is actively engaged in professional and community service. She serves on the Board of Directors for Blessings in a Backpack of Southwest Florida and is the current President of the Association of Family Law Professionals. She is the Immediate Past Chair of The Florida Bar’s Student Education & Admissions to the Bar Committee, where she continues to serve, and is an active member of the Calusa Inn of Court, the Lee County Bar Association, and the Collier County Bar Association.

A Fort Myers native and alumna of Riverdale High School’s International Baccalaureate program, Zekri graduated summa cum laude from Florida Gulf Coast University and received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
