Overview

With a career spanning over two decades, Craig Goddy is a seasoned litigator focusing in commercial and business litigation. He has established himself as a formidable advocate for his clients, offering a comprehensive array of legal services to diverse clientele. Craig’s practice areas have broadly encompassed general commercial litigation, real estate, creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, banking, and insurance defense. Moreover, his experience includes an array of litigation matters, including contract disputes, employment litigation, and probate and trust litigation.

Before joining Henderson Franklin, Craig’s journey in the legal field was characterized by extensive experience at major law firms where his practice was focused on commercial litigation, banking litigation, and insurance defense under commercial general liability policies. He represented a spectrum of clients from community and regional lenders in all aspects of banking litigation to national banks, federal and state savings associations, and private real estate investment companies in high-stakes federal and state court litigation. His work encompassed fiduciary claims, fraud, negligence, and Uniform Commercial Code claims.

Craig’s expertise also extends to representing major corporations, including Fortune 100 companies, and small businesses in various litigation matters. These ranged from employee claims, breach of contract and shareholder disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and restrictive covenant litigation. His significant experience in real estate litigation also saw him frequently serving as outside counsel to large property management companies, addressing commercial evictions, lease negotiations, and commercial development issues. He also serves as a licensed title agent.

Craig graduated cum laude from Kent State University, followed by earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law. He is eligible to practice in multiple jurisdictions, including Florida and Pennsylvania. Craig is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. 

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Craig and his wife live in Naples with their two children. When not working, you will find him cheering for every Pittsburgh sports team, playing guitar and spending time with his family.
