Henderson Franklin Stockholder Scott Atwood Co-Chairs Florida Bar Advanced Labor Topics CLE

Labor & Employment Attornrey Scott AtwoodHenderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. is pleased to announce that stockholder Scott Atwood, Chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Law Group, co-chaired The Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Section’s Advanced Labor Topics Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program, held April 25–26, 2025, at Hawk’s Cay Resort in the Florida Keys.

This premier annual event brought together labor and employment law practitioners from across Florida for an in-depth exploration of emerging trends, significant court rulings, and best practices shaping the workplace today. As co-chair, Atwood helped develop the program’s content, secured a distinguished lineup of speakers and guided the two-day event, providing valuable insights into complex labor law issues.

With three decades of experience, Atwood is widely recognized for his comprehensive work representing entrepreneurs, public entities and businesses of all sizes throughout Florida and Georgia. His practice covers a broad range of employment matters, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, Section 1983, FMLA, FLSA compliance, non-compete agreements, whistleblower claims and employment-related contract disputes. A Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, Atwood is also known for his commitment to resolving disputes efficiently and effectively outside of court.

A longtime leader in the legal community, Atwood previously served as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Labor and Employment Law Section (2021–2022) and has consistently been recognized among Florida Super Lawyers and Naples Illustrated’s “Top Lawyers.” Beyond his legal practice, he is an active civic leader, contributing his time and expertise to numerous community organizations, including the Sidney & Berne Davis Arts Center and the University of Florida College of Law Alumni Council. Reflecting on the program, Atwood shared,
