Back to School Sales Tax Holiday

It is not too early to plan for back to school shopping. The Florida Legislature recently passed House Bill No. 7109, which provides a three-day sales tax exemption on certain back to school items.

Between the dates of August 4 and August 6, 2017, families may take advantage of tax-free shopping on purchases of:

  • Clothing and footwear costing $60.00 or less per item
  • School supplies costing $15.00 or less per item
  • Personal computers costing $750.00 or less per item

The definition of clothing is quite liberal and includes watches, wallets, handbags and even diaper bags! Personal computers also include electronic book readers, laptops, desktops, and tablets.

Mark your calendars to take advantage of the savings!
