Attorney Kayla Richmond to Present on the Interplay Between Estate Planning, Divorce, and Death for Lee County Bar Association

Kayla RichmondHenderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. is pleased to announce that stockholder Kayla Richmond will serve as a co-presenter for a joint program of the Lee County Bar Association’s (LCBA) Family Law and Real Property, Probate & Trust Law (RPPTL) Sections on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at The Collaboratory at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation in Fort Myers.

The program, “‘Til Death [or Divorce] Do Us Part: Understanding the Interplay – Estate Planning, Divorce & Death,” will provide attorneys with a practical, cross-disciplinary perspective on matters that frequently arise at the intersection of family law and estate planning. Richmond will present alongside Robbie Merriman, II, Esq., co-chair of the LCBA RPPTL Section, covering topics such as standing family law orders and how they impact estate planning documents, asset protection and income planning considerations, issues that arise when a party dies during divorce proceedings, post-divorce implications, and practical strategies for both trust and estate, and family law practitioners. A Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Marital and Family Law, Richmond handles complex cases involving divorce, child custody, paternity, child support, adoptions, and domestic violence injunctions. In addition to her practice, Richmond serves as Co-Chair of the LCBA Family Law Section and holds leadership roles in several community and professional organizations, including the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida Board of Directors.

Throughout her career, Richmond has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers®, Naples Illustrated, Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America, and Florida Trend magazine for her work in family law. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida, magna cum laude, and her J.D. and M.B.A. from Stetson University.
