Overview

Lisa Goddy is a trusts and estates attorney with more than two decades of experience guiding individuals, families, and business owners through some of life’s most important planning decisions. Her practice includes estate planning, probate and trust administration, elder law, guardianship and guardian advocacy, special needs trusts, and business succession planning. She is known for creating practical, personalized strategies that reflect each client’s goals and family dynamics, often involving complex estate structures, tax-aware gifting, and multigenerational planning. Passionate about supporting families with loved ones who have additional needs, Lisa frequently incorporates special needs trusts and guardianship advocacy to provide lasting peace of mind. 

Before joining Henderson Franklin, Lisa served as managing partner of a Naples-based estate planning firm and previously practiced at regional and multi-state law firms. Her background includes advising high-net-worth clients, assisting institutional fiduciaries, and handling trust terminations, and select fiduciary litigation matters. Lisa shares her knowledge through continuing legal education and public presentations, including recent workshops for STARability Foundation and the Collier County Bar Association. She has written for Actionline and the Adverse Witness, covering topics such as Medicaid planning and special needs trusts.

In 2025, she was recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for her work in Elder Law and Trusts and Estates. Originally from Indianapolis, Lisa now lives in Southwest Florida with her husband Craig, their two daughters, and their German Shepherd. She enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, painting, and cheering on the Florida Gators, where her daughter is currently a student.

Professional and Civic Affiliations

 Lisa is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law and Elder Law Sections of The Florida Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA). She also belongs to the Collier County Bar Association and previously served on the board of the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh. Lisa also volunteers with the Special Olympics in Naples and teaches children’s faith formation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
