Henderson Franklin Stockholder Sarah Oquendo Joins Gift of Adoption Florida Board
Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. is pleased to announce that attorney Sarah Oquendo has been appointed to the Florida Board of Directors for Gift of Adoption, a national nonprofit that provides adoption assistance grants to help children in vulnerable circumstances find permanent, loving families.
More specifically, Gift of Adoption supports families with the final costs of adoption, often helping to unite children with safe and supportive homes they might not otherwise have access to due to financial barriers. As a member of the Florida Board, Oquendo will help with fundraising and outreach efforts, starting with an upcoming event in Tampa to support adoption grants statewide. Speaking on her appointment, she shares,
“I am honored to be a part Gift of Adoption Board of Directors. I’ve seen firsthand, as an attorney ad litem, the transformative impact adoption can have on a child’s life. My experience advocating for children in the dependency system has shown me how critical financial support is for families seeking to provide loving, permanent homes—and how much more access is needed to help the most vulnerable children find stability.”
Oquendo is a family law attorney based in Henderson Franklin’s Naples office. Her practice focuses on adoption, divorce, custody and support matters. She offers a steady, solution-oriented approach that helps families navigate legal transitions with dignity.
Oquendo is also a member of the Collier County Bar Association and Collier County Women’s Bar Association. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from Stetson University College of Law.
