Overview
Kenneth L. Crooks serves as Chief Operating Officer of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., where he oversees the firm’s business, administrative, and financial operations. With more than 27 years of experience in AmLaw 200 and America’s 350 largest law firms, he partners closely with firm leadership to design and execute strategic initiatives, support long-term growth, and ensure operational excellence across the organization.
Ken plays a central role in aligning the firm’s day-to-day operations with its broader long-term strategic objectives. He leads all administrative functions, guiding a high-performing team that proactively supports attorneys and practice groups while enhancing efficiency, service delivery, and overall performance. His work spans firm governance, financial management, strategic planning, process improvement, mergers & acquisitions, and organizational development, with a consistent focus on strengthening profitability and positioning the firm for sustained generational success.
Known for his thoughtful approach to leadership and problem-solving, Ken collaborates with the firm’s Managing Partner and Executive Committee to address complex business challenges, assess organizational risk, and implement solutions that support both immediate needs and future growth. His experience includes significant law firm merger & acquisition planning and integrations, infrastructure project design and implementation, change management, and the development of systems that improve operational effectiveness.
Ken holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, graduating summa cum laude from Mount St. Joseph University. He also earned a Project Management Certification from Cornell University.
Professional and Civic Affiliations
Ken remains active in professional and community organizations, including the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. He served as treasurer on the National Board of Directors of the Aderant Expert User Community and is a graduate of Leadership Lee.
