Anthony (“Tony”) Rao is a litigation-focused attorney who concentrates his practice on complex family law matters. He provides strategic, compassionate counsel to individuals and families facing high-stakes disputes involving divorce, child custody, paternity, premarital and postnuptial agreements, and modification actions. Tony also handles the division of business, premarital, and marital assets, as well as multi-jurisdictional disputes and international child custody matters governed by the Hague Convention.
Tony has represented business owners, executives, and professionals in the sports and entertainment industries in sophisticated family law disputes. His work includes negotiating multi-million-dollar settlements, litigating complex asset division, and collaborating with forensic accountants, financial professionals, and custody evaluators to secure favorable outcomes for his clients. Whether through alternative dispute resolution or in the courtroom, Tony is known for crafting compelling narratives that advance his clients’ goals with clarity and precision.
Before joining Henderson Franklin, Tony practiced at a boutique family law firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned a reputation for his litigation skill and his ability to resolve challenging disputes efficiently.
Originally from New York City, Tony now resides in Southwest Florida.

Tony is a member of the Florida Bar, the Family Law and Entertainment & Sports Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the Georgia Court of Appeals. He remains active in the legal community and is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of family law practitioners.
