Henderson Franklin Attorneys Michael Corso and Michael Versnik to Present “Avoiding Legal Malpractice” CLE
Fort Myers, Florida – Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to announce that litigation attorneys Michael Corso and Michael Versnik will present “Avoiding Legal Malpractice” to the Collier County Bar Association’s Trial Lawyers Section on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
The continuing legal education program will examine legal malpractice risks facing attorneys and law firms, along with practical measures lawyers can take to reduce their exposure. Corso and Versnik will also examine how the growing use of artificial intelligence is creating additional professional responsibility considerations for lawyers. AI tools are increasingly used for legal research, document review, due diligence and preparation, and to help lawyers develop questions for witnesses. While these tools can improve efficiency, attorneys remain responsible for the accuracy and quality of their work and must consider the ethical implications associated with their use.
“The fundamentals of avoiding legal malpractice haven’t changed. Lawyers need to communicate clearly with their clients, document important decisions, manage deadlines and conflicts, and exercise sound professional judgment,” Corso said. “AI adds another layer of responsibility. These tools can be valuable, but lawyers still have an obligation to protect client confidentiality, verify the accuracy of their work and understand the technology they are using. Ultimately, the lawyer remains responsible for the work product.”
