Dillon McColgan is a member of Henderson Franklin’s Tort and Insurance Litigation division. He focuses his practice in premises liability, automobile, personal injury defense, municipal tort liability, first-party property insurance defense, and subrogation defense. Dillon is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts. He's also admitted to practice in the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
While in law school, Dillon was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and wrote on to the University of Miami Business Law Review. He also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Ivan Fernandez at the Third District Court of Appeal. Dillon earned credit as a student intern with the University of Miami Investor Rights Clinic, in which he provided pro bono legal services to elderly investors of modest means harmed by broker misconduct. Additionally, Dillon participated in UM’s Litigation Skills program in preparation for his career as a civil litigator.
Dillon attended law school as a recipient of the University of Miami’s Dean’s Merit Scholarship and made Dean’s List in his 2L year. He was also awarded honors for earning high marks in UM’s Litigation Skills Program and graduated cum laude.
Prior to attending law school, Dillon worked for a large national personal injury law firm to gain professional experience.
Dillon is a Cape Coral native and graduate of Mariner High School. When not working he enjoys watching football and Formula One racing, working out, and going to the beach.
Professional And Civic Affiliations
Dillon is a member of the Lee County Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and Defense Research Institute. He volunteers his time to help local charities, including the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida. He also regularly participates as a mentor in the United Way of Lee County’s ReadingPals program where he assists kindergarten students one-on-one to improve their early literacy.
