Douglas L. Waldorf is a Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate lawyer whose practice focuses on banking industry clients. A member of the Florida Bar since 1986, he represents lenders in commercial and residential loan transactions, as well as in mortgage foreclosures, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, forbearance agreements and other matters related to defaulted loan workouts. Prior to joining Henderson Franklin in August of 2003, he served for nearly twelve years as Vice President and Corporate Legal Counsel for SunTrust Bank in Lee and Collier counties.

Mr. Waldorf regularly lectures on banking matters for the Miami-based Center for Financial Training.  He is also an instructor for several web-based seminars for Total Training Solutions, Inc. His seminars include Loan Defaults: Strategies and Tactics for Lenders, Loan Documentation for Tough Times and Commercial Loan Documentation. Mr. Waldorf writes The Lender’s Perspective, a periodic newsletter for banking industry clients, and has also authored a book entitled Bank Loan Defaults: Strategies and Tactics for Lenders in Florida. Mr. Waldorf currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Edison State College where he teaches in the Paralegal Studies program.

Mr. Waldorf was named to the 2006 list of Florida Super Lawyers® which recognizes the state’s top five percent of attorneys as selected by extensive peer review. 

PROFESSIONAL AND CIVIC AFFILIATIONS

Mr. Waldorf is a member of Board of Trustees of the Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Research Center, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Fort Myers High School Law Academy. He also serves as a coach for the Fort Myers High School Mock Trial program. His team has won the Lee County Competition and the Twentieth Judicial Circuit Competition in both 2008 and 2009 with 5th and 3rd place finishes at the State of Florida Competitions.  Doug is also a member of the Board of Visitors Mentor Program at Ave Maria School of Law.
