David M. Platt has more than 35 years of experience as an estate planning and business attorney. He concentrates his practice in estate planning, estate and trust administration, real estate and business entity formations.
David frequently speaks and writes on estate planning and business matters for financial planners, accountants and attorneys, as well as the general public. He is an adjunct professor of law at the Michigan State University College of Law, and is the author of several publications.
For five consecutive years, David has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers® magazine for his work in estate planning and probate (2012-2016). He has also been selected by The Best of the U.S. LLC as being amongst the best attorneys in the United States, highlighting his focus on trusts and estates. Prior to moving to Sanibel, David served as the Estate Planning Department chairman of a Michigan law firm. He and his wife Kathleen have two daughters, Katherine and Joan.
